They Can Hear the Teaching Without Seeing the Truth

What if the challenge in discipleship isn't simply what we're teaching, but how people have learned to understand what they are hearing?

Pastor, you can faithfully teach God's Word, provide excellent resources, and explain the historical context—and still find that people interpret what you've taught through the same assumptions they brought into the room.

They may learn the words without grasping the point. They may understand the lesson without seeing how it changes their lives.

And they may repeat what you've taught without developing the ability to discover, understand, and communicate biblical truth for themselves.

After years of teaching people personally, I've become increasingly convinced that developing disciples requires more than transferring information.

It requires helping people grow in their ability to perceive, understand, and respond to God's Word.

Jesus didn't simply give His disciples information. He continually challenged how they saw the world, what they assumed they understood, and how they responded to the truth in front of them.

He asked questions. He used parables. He challenged familiar assumptions. He patiently taught His disciples to see what they had not yet learned to see.

Kingdom Discipleship is about helping people develop that kind of biblical understanding—not simply giving them more lessons to complete.

My desire is to help pastors and church leaders develop disciples who can recognize what Scripture is communicating, allow that truth to reshape their understanding, live it faithfully, and help others grow in the same way.

Because the goal isn't simply to put more biblical information into people.

The goal is to help people become the kind of disciples who can see, understand, live and pass on the truth.
